Diffusion Stone, Carbonation/Aeration Stone 0.5 Micron ( 1/4" Barbed)
Our 0.5 micron stone is ideal to force carbonate your kegged beer, or as an aeration stone prior to fermentation. The barb is 1/4" ID. (Note: if you are using an aeration pump, we recommend a "deep water" type for aquariums, as these will have the necessary PSI to force the air through the stone and into the wort)
To Use: Attach 2 feet of 1/4" tubing from the "gas in" dip tube inside the keg. (Tubing not included). You set your desired pressure on the regulator and gas gets emitted through the 0.5 micron stainless stone. The bubbles rise through the beer creating so much surface area contact between gas and liquid that the absorption rate is very rapid. This is very similiar to how beer is carbonated in breweries.
Sanitizing your Diffusion Stone:
To properly prepare your stone for use, we recommend you boil in water for 3-5 minutes. By heating the stone to boiling temperatures you kill all possible contaminants that may be hidden within the stones micro pores. Using a surface sanitizer is not a guarantee from contamination. Boiling also greatly reduces clogging issues by helping to remove sugar residue.
If boiling is not an option, we recommend soaking in Star San. Star San will remove a majority of surface contamination/bacteria, but will not sanitize the interior of the stone which may or may not be contaminated.
Please note that you do not want to touch the stainless stone portion with your hands. The oils on your fingers can actually clog the small pores in the stone.
Homebrew Aeration System
Instead of diffusing pure oxygen into your wort this system uses filtered air. The included air-pump pushes air through an inline 0.05 micron sanitary filter which is then dispersed into the wort through a two micron stainless steel diffusion stone. The advantage of an aeration system is that you never have to buy replacement oxygen tanks. The down side is that aeration takes longer than oxygenation. Because the atmosphere is only about 20% oxygen, the diffusion stone must be left running in the wort for approximately 30-120 minutes (however even 5 minutes of aeration is better than shaking the carboy.) There is no concern of contamination during this period, however you do have to monitor the fermenter periodically for possible over foaming. While you are brewing, this system can also be used to pre-fill fermenters with sanitary air. Replacement filters, FTFIL90, which need replacement every few years, are available.
About the inline filters: There are two sides to the filter - an "in" and an "out". The direction you use doesn't matter, however, you want to take note of which way you first push air through it and always keep it that way. There is an arrow on the edge of the filter housing that we use to keep the air flow going one direction when using it. The filter should never get wet, so don't try and sanitize it by dunking it in sanitizer. To store the filter, use a little tinfoil on the "In" of the filter and store in a zip-lock bag.
Whisper Aeration Pump
Designed to work with our 2 micron sintered stainless stone. 1/8" barb output. An in line valve to control rate of airflow is included, we also recomend an in-line air filter item FTFIL90
Air In-line Sanitary Filter
An inline sanitary filter that filters down to 0.023 micron with a 99.99% efficiency. Use it anywhere you need to keep something sanitary. Both 1/4" and 3/8" tubing will attach and it will snugly fit in any standard stopper as well. Check out this list of suggested uses:
Airlock: The most common use might be as an airlock on any kind of fermenter. Unlike other small sanitary filters, this unit fits perfectly into a rubber stopper. Works great for conical fermenters where displacement air is taken in when samples are taken or trub is dumped. Using the sanitary filter as airlock also eliminates the concern of drawing air back in as hot liquid cools and contracts in a fermenter. Not appropriate for long term storage of beer or wine as it is not an oxygen barrier.
Inline Aeration/Oxygenation Filter: With an oxygenation or aeration sytem, such as our FTFE375 or FTFE380, it will filter contaminants out of oxygen or air. It is connected inline between pump/O2 tank and s/s diffusion stone.
Hand Pumps: Some breweries use this filter with the breweries hand pump system. Air going back into the cask is sanitized through this filter. This has extended shelf life of Real Ales by up to 2 weeks!
Storage: Store in Ziplock bag in a dry place with minimal moisture exposure. Can last upto 1 year. Discard if their are any signs of discoloration.

STORE DRY AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT SANITIZE FILTER.
Stainless Steel Diffusion Stone - 0.5 Micron w/ Flare Threads (Carbonation / Aeration Stone)
Easy to Sanitize Design
This one uses threads instead of a barb and now you can use flare fittings to connect and disconnect your tubing. This allows you to place the stone by itself directly in a pot of boiling water to sanitize. Easy to Sanitize
This 0.5 micron Carbonation stone is ideal to force carbonate your kegged beer, or as an aeration stone prior to fermentation. The Flare Threads are 1/4". (Note: if you are using an aeration pump, we recommend a "deep water" type for aquariums, as these will have the necessary PSI to force the air through the stone and into the wort) To Use: Attach 2 feet of 1/4" tubing from the "gas in" dip tube inside the keg. Aeration Partial System
Our aeration system, FTFE380, without the air pump. Most aquarium style air pump will work, we recommend a deep water pump. Comes with inline filter, stainless steel diffusion stone, and tubing. About the inline filters: There are two sides to the filter - an "in" and an "out". The direction you use doesn't matter, however, you want to take note of which way you first push air through it and always keep it that way. The filter should never get wet, so don't try and sanitize it by dunking it in sanitizer. If you want to clean the outside of it, use Alpet D2. To store the filter, use a little tinfoil on the "In" of the filter and store in a zip-lock bag
Diffusion Stone - 2 Micron Oxygen Stone
Use this 2 micron oxygen stone with an oxygen source or aeration pump to provide your yeast with oxygen pre-fermentation. The barb is 1/4" OD. (Note: if you are using an aeration pump, we recommend a "deep water" type for aquariums, as these will have the necessary PSI to force the air through the stone and into the wort)
