Italian Twin Lever Hand Corker

A long time favorite corker. Double Lever Wine Bottle Corker Made in Italy The Easy Double Lever Corker is a sturdy and versatile corker for use with any standard wine bottle and cork. A 2-handled design increases the leverage power for smooth and easy operation. This corker also features an adjustment screw to change the distance of insertion into the bottle for the perfect seal. When used with quality corks, this corker will properly cork and preserve the finest beers, wines and ciders for many months or years! To operate the corker, simply position a cork into the recess of the main body. Rest the corker on top of the bottle and push the handles down evenly with both hands. Presto! A beautiful, professional look every time! Cork Requirements: For use with natural corks no greater than 25mm in diameter and standard length (38-45mm). This corker is compatible with some synthetic corks as well. It is not intended for corking Champagnes corks. Always test the compatibility between your corker, corks and bottles before trusting your precious beer or wine with them. How To Use Wine Corks: Wine corks are sometimes used without any treatment before bottling provided they have been stored properly in a clean, dry location. Extra precautions can be taken by sanitizing the corks in a sulphite solution just before bottling.

Gilda Single Lever Corker

Powerful crimping jaws similar to a floor corker. Inserts corks cleanly every time. Compresses corks from the sides before inserting instead of top to bottom like most hand or twin lever corkers. Technical features include 4 mobile jaws, nylon-made main body and adjustable plunger. Some of the advantages of using a Gilda corker are, It does not pinch the cork. It does not reduce the length of the cork when corking. It does not modify the alveolar structure of the cork. Directions for use: insert cork, grip both handles at the ends and squeeze, stand the bottle on the floor, steady Gilda corker on bottle and push down insertion handle in a firm, steady motion.

After extensive testing we recommend Nomacorc brand synthetic corks be used with the Gilda hand corker. They worked the best, inserting cleanly and easily. Our test ratings results were:

BEST - Nomacorc synthetic corks: (A complete and clean insertion with the least handle squeeze pressure).
GOOD - Supreme brand synthetics: (Almost a complete insertion. You may have to finish the insert with your thumb. A little more handle squeeze pressure is required compared to the Nomacorcs brand).
WORST - Natural or agglomerated corks: (Nearly impossible to insert properly. Handle squeeze pressure required is extremely high. If you don't have arthritis in your hands when you start corking you will when you're done using natural corks. Natural or agglomerated corks are NOT recommended with the Gilda corker) .

For best results use Nomacorc brand synthetic corks with the Gilda hand corker.

Portuguese Twin Lever Hand Corker. Good quality twin lever hand corker. Does a good job of corking. #8 corks recommended. Synthetic or larger then #8's are not recommended. Non adjustable depth but our test indicates a good result at a fair price. Rubber coated bottle grips help hold the wine bottle steady too.

Portuguese Floor Corker. Recently redesigned. New and better jaws to work with natural and synthetic corks, even Nomacorc and Supreme. Cork depth adjustment on plunger rod. Excellent, heavy duty Portuguese floor corker. Now corks 375 ml, 750 ml and 1.5 liter bottles with no modifications. Corks most standard wine bottles including both stretch hock and California hock wine bottles. Will not work with the very tall ice wine (bellissima) bottles. This is the work horse floor corker for most home wine makers. Makes a great gift!
