Yeast Starter Kit (1000 ml)

Yeast Starter Kit (1000 ml) The most common size used to make starters using White Labs brand yeast. 1,000ml Erlenmeyer flask, 1/2lb light dried malt extract & 1oz Fermaid K (Yeast Nutrient). This starter kit is for growing liquid yeast starters. The idea is that the starter acts as a mini batch of beer where the yeast cells replicate before being pitched into your 5 gallon batch. More yeast means fermentation starts faster. The bacteria and wild yeast that got into your beer during the transfer from kettle to fermenter have less chance of creating a negative flavor impact upon your beer. (We do not recommend the use of an electric element with these flasks. If this cannot be avoided, we recommend using a larger pot as a hot water bath on the stove.) NOTE: Glass items can be shipped at customer's risk UPS. A damage claim WILL NOT be filed on glass bottles, Flasks, or carboys received broken. UPS WILL NOT payout if it is broken during shipment

Glass Marbles For Topping Up Wine - 3 lbs

Clear glass marbles are an excellent choice for filling volume in numerous different vessels. Easy to keep clean and sanitary, inexpensive, and very useful to help prevent oxidation in your beer, wine, mead, and cider.

3 lbs of marbles will displace approximately 1 liter of liquid. Marble diameter = 12mm.

The marbles need to be santized first with one of the many safe sanitizers we offer.

The biggest caution with using marbles is that they have the ability to crack or break a glass carboy. For this reason, we suggest that you be very careful when using marbles. The last thing you want to do is crack a carboy when it is full of your precious wine.
