In this Hard Cheese Kit you will find all the ingredients needed to make your own Hard Cheeses and/or Italian Style Cheeses. There are a wide variety of Hard Cheeses,which can be made with this kit. Some cheses are waxed before they are aged, while others form a natural rind. All hard cheeses must be aged for between one month and two year before they can be eaten.
This Hard cheese Kit contains all the ingredients to make a variety of hard cheeses using both mesophilic and thermophilic cultures.
A terrific kit for those with intermediate or advanced skills, that allows you to make over 50 small hard cheeses! Choose from a variety of popular hard cheese styles. Comes with quality cheese wax to ensure optimum protection while your cheese matures.
Takes about 1 day to make, not including aging time
This kit also includes red cheese wax to ensure proper protection while your hard cheese matures.
Kit Contents; Butter Muslin, 800 gram Hard Chees Mould with pressing follower, Mesophilic Starter Culture (MW3), Thermophilic Starter Culture (DY17), Calf Rennet, Cheese Salt, Cheese Wax, Metal Wax Melting Bowl, Sterilizer, Kit instructions and recipe booklet.
Additionally all hard cheeses must be pressed. This process compacts the cheese and helps to get rid of moisture, causing the cheese to develop a harder, dryer texture which hard cheeses are renowned for.
