The March 809 Polysulphone sealess magnetic head pump is new and it is the best value and our best pump. It is designed for hot liquids and rated at 250? F. The pump is capable of 5 gallons per minute up to 12 feet of head. This pump dissembles for cleaning by removing the four screws on the front of the housing. To connect, push your half-inch ID tubing onto the included barb fittings. an electric plug and six feet of cord is included. All threaded fittings are a big half-inch to prevent clogging. Everything shown is included. Use the included 1/2" nickel plated ball valve to restrict flow when running a recirculating mash system.
We found the ideal brewing pump built by March Manufacturing. The main factors we were looking for was a pump that was constructed of food-grade material, would handle wort at boiling temperature, take back pressure (flow restriction). We chose to have the pump housing made from polysulfone because it is a tough, food-grade plastic rated to temperatures as hot as 250F. It offers many of the benefits of the ideal material, stainless steel, without the prohibitive cost.
The magnetic drive acts as a clutch allowing the user to put back pressure on the pump to slow down flow. Since it is magnetic drive, it is not self-priming, you must put the pump under the level of the liquid source.
This is a tough little pump with a 1/25 hp, continuous-duty 1.4 Amp motor which can be run non-stop for extended periods.
1/2" mpt fittings on both inlet and outlet. Materials in contact with solution are Polysulfone, 316 stainless steel, silicon rubber, Raton and Teflon. Shaded pole, thermal overload protected, single phase motor is fan cooled. Will handle internal pressures to 150 psi. Max pressure the pump can produce in a closed system is a little over 5 psi. Face unscrews and rotates at 90 degree intervals to adjust to your application.
All threaded fittings are a big half-inch to prevent clogging. Everything shown is included. Use the included 1/2" lead free ball valve to restrict flow when running a recirculating mash system.
Use to reduce tubing size from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch. This fitting is barb connected on both ends.

The perfect tubing for building a personal brewery, especially for any time that the wort in contact with tubing will be above 180F. It is kink resistant and will not delaminate. This tubing is not designed to hold pressures above 20psi. It works great with our magnetic drive pumps, but we do not recommend it with a impeller pump or for use with household water pressure. 1/2" ID * 3/4" OD * Will burst at 30 PSI at 70F.
